flip of a coin, draw of a card

“Just watch me.” -Pierre Elliot Trudeau

Happy Victoria Day long weekend! As much as it’s a holiday for some (and not), the weather is nice, so go out and get some fresh air. Unfortunately for me, fresh air was mixed with breathing foam in…I had this idea for a cosplay a while ago, but I didn’t act on it until today. The last week has been a lot of sleeping and ingesting antibiotics- in addition to strict supervision by parents (hence, lack of internet activities).

Anime North cosplay preparations on my front porch…I can get away with singing “Call Me Maybe” without embarrassment disturbance.

The real difficulty starts when I start on the leg plates. The gesso should hold on the styrofoam, and only other issue may be the running out of spray paint on Victoria Day.

Things to bring to Anime North (updated):
– cellphone to call people (currently in the process of collecting data to use for it)
– water bottle
– snacks/food
– 3DS, to Streetpass everyone!
– hand sanitizer
– tape (in case)

As much as I won’t take that many photos, I’ll take a few to remember this by. The fact of the matter is, I didn’t take any myself last year, and I ended with no photos, including no photos of the team cosplay I was in. ._. ZETTA-UNCOOL. So lesson, take your own photos, back-up your information.

Kuro-kun is going to meet a new roommate soon. Hope it works out well, because he really does eat a lot. XD

Anyway, off to go more minor- energy things. Not feeling too well, but I might write a post on “saving money,” what it actually means.

Not a whole lot of art posts lately. Hmm.

Winter Landscape, with Rooks
By Sylvia Plath
Water in the millrace, through a sluice of stone,
plunges headlong into that black pond
where, absurd and out-of-season, a single swan
floats chaste as snow, taunting the clouded mind
which hungers to haul the white reflection down.

The austere sun descends above the fen,
an orange cyclops-eye, scorning to look
longer on this landscape of chagrin;
feathered dark in thought, I stalk like a rook,
brooding as the winter night comes on.

Last summer’s reeds are all engraved in ice
as is your image in my eye; dry frost
glazes the window of my hurt; what solace
can be struck from rock to make heart’s waste
grow green again? Who’d walk in this bleak place?

Some updates on Reading Week activities- other than school.

Never had this kind of overwhelming enthusiasm for a PSP game before. This is what happens when you spend about 2 terms thinking about it. And drawing something new.

BRSB, or “Beast-chan” poses. I messed with the white balance a little to make it warm. (More, better, photos later, Robo.)

I’ll be uploading more photos soon, but have a safe and fun Reading Week! (Despite that “Reading Week” is implied to be a study period…no one treats it as such.)

The Club That Really Likes Anime is hosting a cosplay cafe! I wonder what people will dress up as…I’ll be there to take photos. ^_^

A wild beast appears!?!

A quick update! If you are planning on voting in the Feds election next week, please consider reading the Imprint election guide pull-out in this week’s paper, and read up on all the candidates. Follow #votefeds on Twitter, and vote at vote.feds.ca.

Until then #chairpose; #thegreatmathNEWSdebate (video, as entertainment).

The Club That Really Likes Anime is hosting a marathon with GLOW on Wandering Son. I’ve recommended it in the past on my Deviantart, and I’d say it’s worth watching as a genuinely good show, if you’re not that into trans issues. Friday February 10, 4:30PM-10PM, in AL 113.

A collaboration with Aquarius-chan~

Yesterday was a peculiar day for travelling. There were strange detours, odd encounters, and blatant coincidences(?). I ran into friends, teachers, and even supervisors on the public transportation- between that and getting to places I wanted to go, I had a lot of time to think about how the pieces fit together. Who people are to me, what they are to me, little things like that. Each one is precious, I think.

End-of-term staff lunch for Imprint was a blast, as usual! I really can’t believe I’m friends with this gang of people; there’s up and downs, but I couldn’t trade my time at Imprint for anything. I have a feeling that it defines more of me that anything else I’ve encountered.

Off to to the Tannery today to see the Architecture play put on by the 2B class- I’ve been hearing some interesting things about it. I think I’ve invited approximately 3 different people to see it with me, but each time was thwarted by a different reason.

Managed to mix up dreams (sleeping) with dreams (aspirations) with some hilarious and embarrassing results. Ahh, the contents of women’s closets…the taste of water, white cats, and a dash of food jealousy.
